Healthy food & styling - Canberra photo shoot

Being surrounded by enthusiastic, motivated and energetic ladies is truly good for the soul.

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of working on a collaborative photo shoot with Canberra-based health professionals 'lovennourish' & Sydney-based stylists 'I Melt With You Collective' and am so thrilled to show you a few sneak peek moments

Food photography

I've been doing lots of work lately, in setting up the food photography side of my business.

This morning I have been sorting out props & styles ... time for a food & drink break now :)

Dinner Rush - {food photography}

'Dinner Rush' is a fantastic new business, operating in the ACT delivering delicious, wholesome, home-cooked meals.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to take these photographs as part of their promotional campaign and website development.

The freshness, yumminess and essence of Dinner Rush speaks for itself in the photos below ... and will set your mouth watering and your stomach rumbling.

If you are in Canberra and would like some delicious home-cooked meals delivered to your home, contact Siobhan at 'Dinner Rush'  0450 578 558.

Thursday afternoon baking

I've been sick all week, with not a great deal of motivation to speak of.

Finally the germs seem to be getting the hint and have started to depart, so this afternoon I found myself in the kitchen itching to bake something.

Today is my husband and my 11th wedding anniversary, and I decided a yummy dessert was called for. The house is now rich with the strong smell of a flourless chocolate cake, courtesy of Sue Shepherd's 'Low FODMAP Recipes' book.

Chocolate banana cake

I was inspired by a recent posting by a 365-er friend, of a quick & easy chocolate banana cake .... and with a Public Holiday here in Canberra today, Tara and I thoroughly enjoyed the no work/childcare day and instead smooshed bananas, ate the chocolate designated for the cake, and eventually whipped up two cakes (she wanted a "small one for Tara").

Birthday carrot cake

Hip hip hooray......

Yesterday was my lovely husband Chris' birthday, and this year I am determined to do more baking (from scratch). I love making cakes and cupcakes for special occasions, but sadly don't do it as often as I would like. And although not really a person to set myself resolutions with the dawning of a New Year, I am going to make more of an effort to get stuck into the kitchen a little bit more.

Inspired by my friend Marinda, who posted on her Lady Cookie Monster blog last week, what was promised to be a nice & simple Carrot Cake recipe... I took to the kitchen to make Chris' birthday cake. Check out the recipe HERE - it was nice and simple to make, and so very delicious :)

And I fashioned some cute mini 'carrots' with dried apricots and green lolly snakes.
